The USA Sevens tournament is held in the heart of downtown, providing easy access to transportation, accommodation and boutique shopping - not to mention a sweeping selection of cool restaurants and hot bars.   

When the international flavors of the tournament inspire the rugby fan for a little more spice, (and a little margarita), head 15 miles south to Mexico. Here you will find its own cultural offerings in various towns along the border and coastline, including Tijuana, Rosarito and Ensenada.

With the non-stop, action packed weekend revving up 24/7, San Diego's East County may be a welcome retreat from the electric atmosphere of the downtown Gaslamp district. The terrain varies from gentle foothills to mile-high mountains and the historic mining town, Julian, down to the 600,000-acre Anza Borrego Desert State Park, offering nature-conscious visitors endless opportunities to hike, camp, fish, observe wildlife and much more.

While the beer garden will be flowing freely in PETCO Park, lovers of the grape will find that vintners in San Diego’s North County are also making a mark by growing, harvesting and producing quality wines  that are savored at elegant restaurants and resorts in the region.
